Аннотация:
Purpose. To present the clinical case of identification of cancer of unknown primary in patient with metastatic involvement of right sacroiliac joint using whole body magnetic resonance imaging. Materials and methods. Examination was performed on 1.5 Tesla MRI scanner with the acquisition of four regions of interest: head and neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis and up-per thigh. Scanning protocol included diffusion-weighted imaging sequence. Results. Examination allowed us to localize primary focus in the left breast. Fur-thermore, additional foci of metastases were present in body of 3rd thoracic vertebra, 5th and 6th ribs on the left, 4th rib on the right and right sacroiliac joint. Conclusions. Whole body MRI is widely used in staging of metastatic disease, as-sessment of response to chemotherapy and screening. Identification of cancer of unknown primary (CUP) is one of its further indications. Whole body MRI with acquisition of diffusion weighted images brings important diagnostic inform
